Stephen Haynes returns to Real Art Ways to premier a new project –  Knuckleball – a “pocket brass band.” RAW listeners will be familiar with Haynes from the long-running Improvisations series, co-curated with Joe Morris.

With Knuckleball, Haynes has gathered some old friends – Taylor Ho Bynum and Ben Stapp – and invited a guest artist Dan Clucas, based in Los Angeles. The drummer – Eric Rosenthal – may be familiar to area listeners as a member of Naftules Dream, the iconic avant-klezmer ensemble that has recorded for John Zorn’s Tzadik label. Expect the unexpected with this new group!
